Welcome
At FEFG, we are dedicated to nurturing a love for gymnastics and unlocking the potential of each athlete. Established in 2018, we started humbly in a small space on the top floor of a building on Jarvis Street. Initially, our focus was on providing classes for young athletes and introductory acrobatic gymnastics. Less than a year later, fueled by the city's enthusiasm and support, we expanded into a larger facility spanning approximately 1,500 square feet.
In this new space, we introduced competitive programs tailored for young female athletes aged 7-8 at Level 2, alongside a demonstration category for our acrobatic gymnasts. Our facilities, while modest, were maximized to their fullest potential; we maneuvered our beams across the floor, nearly meeting regulation size, and created a dedicated area for vaulting. With just one set of bars, we optimized our resources to support our athletes' growth. We owe tremendous gratitude to the pioneering parents who believed in our vision and joined us on this journey.
Skipping over the challenges presented by COVID-19, we are immensely grateful for the resilience shown by our athletes and the unwavering support of our community. Despite the obstacles, our gymnastics family remained united, meeting three times a week over Zoom for workouts, demonstrating our shared commitment to growth and camaraderie.
Fast-forward to today, we proudly celebrate our achievements, including three acrobatic trios ranking 5th, 6th, and 6th at the Canadian National Championships. Additionally, our youngest duo secured a coveted spot on Team Ontario, while one of our female athletes garnered accolades with a tour selection qualifying win, achieved gold with her team in Arizona, and clinched the top spot in her category to participate in the inaugural All-Star Meet at Provincial Championships last season. Reflecting on our journey, if asked five years ago where we saw ourselves today, our expectations would have been modest, simply aiming to establish our competitive teams within a year. Life, however, has taken us on unexpected but rewarding paths, and we embrace these experiences as part of our journey.
Our mission has always been to combine fun with structured programming, and our growth is a testament to the hard work of our athletes and the dedication of our parent volunteers. Now happily settled in what we hope will be our forever home at 20 Lewis Street in Fort Erie, we look forward to continuing to serve our community for years to come.
